Our Assessor is the official who estimates the value of real property within the Town's boundaries. This value is converted into an assessment, which is one component in the computation of real property tax bills. The Town of Richmond is the designated assessing authority for the Town and for the School Districts for property within the Town of Richmond. The Town of Richmond re-assesses every 3 years to reset assessments at 100% of market value.

Visiting the Assessor's Office
Notice:
Due to Tentative Roll and Grievance preparation, Kate's Office Hours for Walk-In visitors are suspended until after Grievance Day, May 27th, 2025.
If you stop in during the week and Assessor Clerk Claire Kenney is in the Office, she can assist with most inquiries.
If the Assessor's Office is CLOSED, paperwork may be left in the small black mailbox on the counter by the Assessor's Office window or given to Town Clerk's Office staff if it's too large to fit in the mailbox. Please be sure your contact info is on any paperwork you submit.
Kate's regular Walk-In Office Hours will resume in June 2025.
